While our main focus as breeders remains our beloved Afghan Hounds & Salukis, we do love our toy dogs, both in the show ring and as companions.
Marley is our newest addition! James has wanted a Pekingese to show for as long as he can remember, and we fell in love with this beautiful white boy with jet black pigment. He was bred by Joy Thoms (Windemere) and Cody Koch (Pevyne), and is a grandson of MBIS/MSBIS GCH Windemere's Dusting of White at Pevyne, the #1 Pekingese, #4 Toy Dog, and #19 Dog of all-breeds for 2012!
At his first show with competition, Marley was awarded Best in Sweepstakes, Best Puppy, and Best of Winners for a 5 point major at the Imperial Pekingese Club of Greater Flint specialty in Michigan! He has since been awarded two more majors and is a multiple breed winner from the classes. In October 2015 we took him to the Morris and Essex show where he was Best of Winners under legendary breed expert Luc Boileau. A few weeks later we took him down for the Atlanta Specialty weekend. He took the points at the first three all-breed shows, finishing with a 5 point major by winning breed over a large entry of specials under Desmond Murphy. We moved him up to the specials class for the specialty that afternoon, and his first time as a special he won his first Specialty Best in Show at 11 months old under breed authority Sharon Masnick! We can't wait to see what the future holds!
Ruby is a stunning Italian Greyhound bred by Sherri Meyer and Nicole Newkirk (Maja) and Mark Lucas (Integra).
Recently Sherri and Nicole asked us if we would like to co-own Ruby and pilot her specials career. We couldn't resist!
Her debut weekend with us was the highly competitive 2015 "Woofstock" cluster in Vallejo, California. While there she won the breed in three shows, including specialty best in show at the Northern California Italian Greyhound specialty. In a few short weeks of showing Ruby garnered several group placements and a NOHS Best in Show (Pictured). Ruby was awarded an Award of Excellence at the 2015 AKC Eukanuba National Championship.
Jaxon is from the Windfall Kennels of Diane and Karen Sako.
He has been an absolute joy to live with, although he gave James a new appreciation of how (relatively) easy Afghans are to groom!
Jaxon's class career was short and sweet, and he won both of his majors by winning best of breed over ranked specials.
He is pictured here with Karen. We rarely got to show him ourselves as Havanese and Afghans ALWAYS seemed to be in the ring at the same time. Jaxon has all of his health clearances and has been used at stud at Windfall and his puppies have been successful in the ring. We expect to have Jaxon back in the ring for a specials caeer in the future.
